Final Trials U.P. State Successfully Concluded!

The Final Trials for the Uttar Pradesh Men’s were successfully conducted by UPSRA at IIT- Kanpur Squash Courts.

The state’s top billed player Sandeep Yadav fatigued from travel excused himself from the contest. While fellow  players from Allahabad, and others from Kanpur and Dhampur contested a place in the team. 

Noticable performances from Rachit Gaur from Dhampur, Kushal Singh from Allahabad saw them freeze their places in the side. Others who showed great character on court and played well where Dr. Ishan Sharma, Ishan Ahmed and Ranjeet Singh -both Ishaan and Ranjeet making it to the team as two reserves.

Glimpses of brilliance were also shown by Md. Saqib, Om Shanker Dubey and Karan Kanodia but since these players lacked consistency and stamina they could not make it into the Team.

The late arrival of monsoon in Kanpur ensured that playing conditions were humid, making it extremely tough for players to finish all their matches.  Secretary District Gautam Buddh Squash Rackets Association – Mr. Vikas Sharma who was administring  the games ensured ample rest for the players.

Matches were played under the keen eyes of the State’s Secretary Dr. N. K. Pandey. UPSRA ensured refreshments and lunches for  all participants and coaches. Finally, Secretary UPSRA announced the State Senior Squash Team:

1. Sandeep Yadav
2. Rachit Gaur
3. Kushal Singh
4. Ishaan Ahmed and /or
5. Ranjeet Singh
6. Team Manager -  Vikas Sharma

Besides this there were twenty other individual entries that were forwarded by UPSRA Secretary to the Squash Rackets Federation of India. This included 19 mens players and  one women player who will be contesting in various categories.
